Starting and Stopping the ESS block device

The ESS block device is normally started and stopped with a script. A sample of this start/stop script is shipped in the init.d/fbd1 directory. For compression and de-dupe with virtual memory, use the init.d/fbd1-comp-dedupe script

You start the ESS device with:

/usr/local/fbd/init.d/fbd1 start

Similiarly, you stop the ESS device with:

/usr/local/fbd/init.d/fbd1 stop
